Kevin Scanlon is an award-winning photographer. Since 2001, he has shot a wide range of people, from famous to not-so-famous (and even a few infamous) for editorial, entertainment, and advertising clients.

 

In 2021, images from his Coronavirus Mask Project were chosen for the American Photography Photo Annual, shortlisted for Communication Arts Photo Annual, and Scanlon was awarded a grant from The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. The project was bookended a year later with an “unmasked” portrait of his subjects and a brief interview.

 

He has lectured and taught workshops at high schools and colleges, including Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles Center for Photography, and organizations like The American Society of Media Photographers.

 

Kevin is originally from Pittsburgh and is a die-hard Steelers / Penguins / Pirates fan. He can solve a Rubik’s Cube in about five minutes. When he doesn’t have a camera hanging from his shoulder, he has his ’63 Fender Jazzmaster or his set of golf clubs to take its place. Kevin is based primarily in NY and often shoots in Los Angeles and beyond for select projects.
